Happy Day to you all...I'm going to be taking the train into the city Saturday, The NJ cost line from Middletown. If you want to join me on the ride up the schedual is as follows.

| Brief catch up |

Well some of you know I was layed off back on march 13th. Beilive me I'm fine with it. Right now it was costing me 400 a month just to drive to work. On unemployment I'll just about break even. This does however put my cruise in doubt...oh well. So living where I live and summer 2 months off..I'm in no rush to find a new job. I'll apply to "choise" adds but not everything under the sun. It can be a good summer. Of course I welcome you visitors, none of you ever come but I offer.
The fitness thing is going great. Since I've been off my diet is tighter and the jogging gym sessions have been good. Seeing differences already since I've been back at the gym 3+ weeks ago.
Now my big question mainly for NJ NY friends. I'm thinking of heading into the city on 4/18 to a great martini bar SW44th (on 9th) I turn 39 on 4/15 gonna catch a buzz...I'm sure some of my softball friends would go. How about you? Thurseday I got a new PC from Best Buy. Cool little thing i hooked up on Friday to the big TV

Saturday some friends went into the city for dinner and drinks. The restaraunt was good but tiny portions. Now drinks we went to a nice martini bar on 44th and 9 called SW44th. We had gone there over the summer too. When I discovered my love of Martinis...This place makes a killer Appletini. The sliced apple in it really made the drink. Anyway I drool thinking about it.
I was thinking of going back for dinner and mor tinis on on my birthday weekend. 4/18. I would love for some of the NY crowd to go. Hell I'd love anyone on the FL to show up. I'll post more as I go.
Sooo after I obtained my buzz we were walking back to Penn and noticed the cast of the play Daniel Radcraf (Harry Potter) was leaving the theater for the night. Potter was gone but some people I didn't know went by. Then I see one person looking familiar crossing the sreet in my direction after she pleased the crowd. I blurt out..."Hey your Captain Janeway!!!" She replies " yes I am...have a great night" being a Star trek fan that was cool...
Sunday I went to the Metallica show at the new Prudential Center in Newark. I could care less about the first band The Sword..Machine Head was next and KILLED!!!!
Metallica I think has gotten better as a live band. Love the stage in the round performance. Hated Lars's Orange drums. They Played for 2 and a half hours. I loved Master of Puppets..One (had a lit of Fire and flames bursts) Even enjoyed a couple of the new tunes. Been a while since I've seen them live (94 i think) I'd go again.
That new Prudential Center is a nice building. If you ever have a chance to go there do it.. |

Remember the recent bitching I did about the job and the tiny bonus they gave us? There were lay offs...just a feeling of doom about the company......I did not expect anything from them at all. Just the occassional verbal " good job"
We this moring I get in and my boss Rich comes over to tell me I've gotten a raise. Only 3 people in the building got a raise, a small one (3%) but still it's something. I'm jazzed... |

| Goodbye 2008 |

Well tomorrow is it, the last day of the year. Since I have to work the full day I'm staying local with Karen and Tara from softball. It'll be nice.
So here is my year in review.
Work
It was a very fragile. GF acquired my company and my position was not really needed. I was days away from being unemployed. I lucked out that they needed someone good on the computer, with a "operational" mind. Now between Barbara doing the sales me keeping things moving out the door there is a nice flow. My official title "Production Manager/EDI-Lumiscope" Just a long drive and GF treats our division like unwanted children.
Friends
My softball friends have become my close friends now. The "marrieds" have become a disappointment and I can care less if I hear from them again. Also some of the people in my building are good friends now too.
Family
Is good. Mom and Dad had a great year. From Dad's navy reunion in Reno to their first cruise with Karen and I they were fun filled. Oh and they still do the 2 weeks in Canada too..
Romance
It was a dead year..again
Health
I had Pink Eye for the first time ever in January. I'm getting in better shape doing 3 miles a day on the boardwalk. Still playing softball on a couple leagues. I'm having foot issues, heal spurs...planters...um whatever...All I know is they hurt every day, but I keep going.
Sammy
of course he is the best cat on the planet. He is very happy and healthy. Love him to death.
Music
There was a few good release this year. Disturbed, Slipknot...I was very surprised on the reunited Testament CD. Judas Priest- Nostadamus is a excellent listen. Obvious my highlight of the year was meeting and shacking the hands of KK, Glen and the Metal God himself Rob Halford of Judas Priest. They still are a great live band too.
Movies
Ok Dark Knight RULED!!! Iron man was just as good. Hellboy2, not much in story was a great movie.
I'll leave with my resolutions
To continue the quest to be in better shape. Joining a gym in January. AND I'm pulling back my hand. I always have my hand out to help, invite or just be there. I will be there for people who appreciate/remember me. People who make the effort to keep whatever relationship we have alive. (the marrieds are out!!!)

I was thinking about things about my life..what make me like some stuff hate others...Most of you know music...REAL rock music pretty much is my life. What got me so passionate about that and what got me into drumming...
Well it was April 1986 and I was going to my first concert KISS at the Meadowlands. I barely knew much of their past at that point. Kiss put on one hell of a show, fireworks bombs just great solid playing. In the middle came probably the biggest influence of my life. Eric Carrs drum solo. I found a booleg version of his solo of that tour from Texas I think..
I remember whenb he hit the electronic drums how the place vibrated. What a memory..
Sadly Eric Carr past away in 1992 of Heart Desease. But thank you Eric for all you did for this warped MF |

that's all I can say today. I Love what i do and the people I work with but this company sucks. Living in fear of layoffs, treated like outcasts..
today we got our Bonuses...wait for it....wait..... $ 25.00 gift card.
last year they gave us that when we didn't officially work for GF and I thought that was classy of them. This...this has me speecless.
Again at least I have a job. |

I really havn't had what they call Christmas Spirit since I was a kid. Probably lost it in 1982 when my grandmother passed the day after Christmas. It's not like a dread this time of year I kind of enjoy it for the most part. People in better moods..
I found myself Sunday thinking (No comments) Christmas is less than 2 weeks away and I have no Spirit at all. Maybe it's beacuse this very trying year went by so quick? I just don't feel anything. I've Christmas Shopped but it didn't seem as special as years past. Last year being the best getting a cruise for the parents. I don't know I'm just lost...

heard this today on XM and looked for it when I got home. Tuff- American Hair metal..hate the Kid rock vibe but this is a cool song.

THEN....I heard this a while ago but still this song Kicks balls!!!Just pounding metal!! What a look eh? I bet this band drives their equiptment around in pick up trucks. Don't like that both guitarists inthe vid play Dimebag tribute guitars, I appreciate honoring his godlike playing BUT it just comes across cheesy to me...Song still Kicks Ass and BALLS
